What an amazing year & a very special group of Wheellie Mad Women! 2015 was our 7th year running. This year we had eight mum’s run with the Wheellie Mad Women, who have kids supported by our group.
The race itself was such a wonderful way to celebrate our huge fundraising success and enjoy some time with other mum’s in similar situations. My life has changed since I started being Wheellie Mad, and I look forward to this event every year. I feel so proud to be a part of this and know that I am in some small way helping to improve the lives of local kids with disabilities. The highlight of the race is definitely running through the finish line on day 3 with some of the kids we support, seeing the huge smiles on their faces & of course my own son’s joy as he races us in & joins in on the hugs.
This year we raised an amazing $72 000 and were awarded the highest fundraising team in the race! Our Over 40’s team also placed second and our Ladies team placed third in their categories.
Money raised by the Wheellie Mad Women helps us to support more than 100 local kids with Cerebral Palsy, Rare Diseases & other physical disabilities. A few of the things that our group will help fund are physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic horse riding, travel costs for medical procedures and specialized equipment purchases.
Thank you, thank you to all our sponsors for helping us achieve this remarkable outcome.
Every year I am blown away by the generosity of local businesses, families and selfless people who continue to help us out in some way. The amount of money raised would not have been possible without the help of some truly awesome Wheellie Mad Women and support crew, thank you!
A very special thank you to Dennis Howe and his team at Howe Farming who have been our major sponsors for a number of years and who continue to amaze us with donations of buses & drivers, dollar contributions, delicious bananas to fuel our bodies and some pretty incredible runners too. We could not do this without you!!
Thanks also to our other major sponsor NQEA, who year in and out continue to sponsor and support to help our cause.
We would like to thank the following businesses that have already committed to Sponsorship for Team 2015.
